The Real Super Bowl XLVI

Said a Patriot, flanked by his lady:
"Though my Giant opponent is shady,
And I may lack for planning
Or adequate Manning,
I've a trophy wife, just like Tom Brady."

Days before the kickoff of Super Bowl XLVI, US Presidential contender Newt Gingrich tried to rally his supporters for the next 46 primaries in the race for the Republican nomination. Though out-organized and outspent by the frontrunner Mitt Romney, Mr. Gingrich hopes that his persuasive powers will win the day. On the evidence of another commanding Romney win in this weekend's Nevada primary, however, money and organization appear likely to carry the election in the next XLV contests.
As for today's Super Bowl XLVI: Go Giants!

  1. LOL! Very clever and funny! I love how you combined politics and sports. :)

Also, congratulations on your Honorable Mention in last week's Limerick-Off. Great job! Limerick of the Week 47.

  2. Careful what you wish for; it might be what you get.
Grand Old Party faithful's feeling that way now I bet.
Changed the way that delegates are won in this year's race.
Seems to be a strategy that blew up in their face.

There have been no knock-out blows, and so they stagger on...
Farther right from center. All the Independents? Gone.
Romney's campaign's stumbling with voters in the South.
They can't understand him when he has grits in his mouth.

    Gingrich and Santorum? Really close in recent polls;
Cancelling each other out as each pursues his goals.
Looking like a marathon (and not a pretty one.)
Might not be 'til Tampa before this race is done.
